“I haven’t lived in the area for very long, but I have already begun to notice the speed in which the people and the industries move in Tooting. Everything seems fast up compared to where I was living before in Surrey, people aren’t necessarily in a rush, but just seem to do more or have more going on. The main thing that stood out was the sheer number of delivery vans I see! But it makes sense because you can literally order something before midday and have it by dinner time, which is madness.
Aside from that, living in an area as well connected as Tooting has huge advantages. I have saved so much of my previously wasted life on commuting to and from work thanks to the Northern line connections in Tooting Broadway and Tooting Bec, plus I can easily access East London via the overground at Tooting Station. It means I can now spend more time at my local gym or going for a run on Tooting Bec Common! It’s great being able to see a friend in the evening and I absolutely adore Tooting Market and Broadway Market on Tooting High Street – they’re super cool and where all the cool people hangout and eat… There’s so much choice and new stalls / street food outlets are popping up every month or so. My friends love it and I feel so lucky to have this pocket of culture on my doorstep.
When it comes to flat mates I’ve always had huge issues, my first flat share a few years back was catastrophic and verging on traumatic to be honest. The lack of cleanliness in the house and the constant parties were nothing short of a nightmare and don’t even get me started on searching for good housemates! I can barely keep up with my friends and try and maintain some form of love-life let alone search for my perfect cohabitors. But then I found Square Space Property and honestly the rest is history. Karl was so kind and understanding and his houses are immaculate – they are the house sharers dream and since moving into my room near Tooting Broadway I’ve been less stressed and more in touch with my work and social life.
